The Petra Šparl Award Ceremony

The 2018 Petra Šparl Award Ceremony

The Petra Šparl Award is for the best paper published in Ars Mathematica Contemporanea (AMC) or The Art of Discrete and Applied Mathematics (ADAM) by a young woman mathematician, and is awarded by the Slovenian Society of Discrete and Applied Mathematics and University of Primorska each even year, beginning in 2018. The ceremony will be held within the conference on Monday, May 28 at 14:30, followed by the talk of the 2018 Petra Šparl Awardee.

Nominations for the Award are sought through announcements in AMC and ADAM.

The selection is performed by the Petra Šparl Award Committee, which consists of three members of the editorial board of AMC or ADAM, and previous awardees once the award has been well established. The committee is appointed by the Editors in Chief of AMC and ADAM. Committee Members for the initial term (2017-2020) are: Marston Conder (chair), Asia Ivić Weiss and Aleksander Malnič.

Any woman author or co-author of a paper published either in AMC or ADAM is eligible for the award, as long as she is at most 40 years old at the time of the paper's first submission.
