DESCRIPTION:This internal satellite conference is held during the 8th Euro
 pean Congress of Mathematics - 8ECM.\n\nThe scope of the conference Optimi
 zation in insurance is to present concrete optimization problems in insura
 nce\, from gathering and storing data to risk control. The lecturers come 
 mostly from the industry and present concrete examples they have encounter
 ed in their professional work. The contributions are of particular interes
 t to risk managers and actuaries working in the insurance industry.  The 
 lectures are aimed at ideas on how to make companies more competitive.
