DESCRIPTION:Satellite event of the 8th European Congress of Mathematics\n
\n\n\nCombinatorics around the q-Onsager algebra \n\nImportant announcemen
t\n\nThe new dates for the q-Onsager Algebra Conference are 20-24 June\, 2
022.\n\nWe were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Vaughan Jones
\, who was scheduled to speak at our conference. We extend our heartfelt
sympathies to his family\, friends and colleagues. (link)\n\n \n\nAt t
he conference we will be celebrating the 65th birthday of Paul Terwilliger
. As such\, the general theme of this conference will be the mathematical
topics that Paul has worked on over the years (which all have relationship
s to the q-Onsager algebra). These topics include the following:\n\n• To
pics in algebraic graph theory\, such as distance-regular graphs\, associa
tion schemes\, the subconstituent algebra\, and the Q-polynomial property\
;\n\n• Topics in linear algebra\, such as Leonard pairs\, tridiagonal pa
irs\, billiard arrays\, lowering-raising triples\, and a linear algebraic
approach to the orthogonal polynomials of the Askey scheme\;\n\n• Topics
in Lie theory\, such as the tetrahedron algebra and the Onsager algebra\;
\n\n• Topics in algebras and their representations\, such as the equitab
le presentation of Uq(sl2)\, the q-tetrahedron algebra\, the q-Onsager alg
ebra in mathematical physics\, and the universal Askey-Wilson algebra.\n\
nThe deadline for submitting abstracts for contributed talks has passed.
However\, further submissions may still be considered if space is availab
le. If interested\, please email the conference organizers.\n\nDate:\n\n
